Frequently Asked Questions
About Devi Maryada
This is a lifestyle that is based on following Devi’s maryadas aka nature’s boundaries. So it’s a lifelong discipline that needs to be adopted as the way of life, even after the challenge.
Colourless blue light filter specs don’t block much of the blue light. If they did, you shouldn’t be able to see the colour blue. Amber or maroon-tinted blue blocking glasses that block 99% blue light need to be used after sunset.
Devi’s Maryadas are common for both men and women. Above that, women have their monthly cycles tied to the phases of the moon. You need to rest more during the periods and prioritize activity during the follicular and ovulation phases.
Yes.The rising sun and sky need to be looked at with naked eyes for a few minutes to reset and retune the body’s clock. You don’t need orange glasses in the daytime. Make sure to get enough natural light throughout the day (Minimum is 5 minutes of natural light after every hour spent in artificial light. The more sunlight you get, the better)
Once is enough.
The answer is never constant and depends on the energy usage of the body and its environment. Listen to your body, it will tell you.
Yes. You also need to make sure the room is completely dark and there’s no artificial light that’s catching the attention of your eye.
Cold water exposure is necessary till the point you start shivering. After shivering for 30 seconds, you may stop the cold water and turn to normal water. The more you do cold showers the more your tolerance to cold increases and soon you’ll be able to do it fully.
Reverse Osmosis is the filtration technology that filters impurities and large molecules and allows only clear water to pass through. It’s needed because there are many toxins and impurities in water that come along even in your tap water that’s undergone prior treatment.
Well, water can have toxic impurities since there can be an in-flow of contaminated groundwater into the well from other neighboring sources. Filtration plants add hundreds of disinfectants and chemical agents before being discharged as supply water. Many normal filters don’t filter out the contaminants from the water. That’s why RO + UV treatment is the safest option. RO removes impurities and UV kills pathogens.
RO water can be restructured and re-mineralized once it comes out of the filtration tank. Keeping it in the sun or silver cup restructures the water. Adding pink salt to the water re-mineralizes the water.
Devi is Shakti and she is present abundantly in nature. Some laws govern this universe to maintain balance in the processes of life and death. All beings, living and dead, are bound by these laws. As humans, we have evolved following these laws for millions of years. Violating these laws, like we have been doing ever since childhood, causes the loss of the grace of Shakti, causing all kinds of suffering and problems of health, wealth, relationships, etc. Following these laws allows us to come under her grace and protection. Devi’s Maryadas means nature’s justice system.
Late-night work causes a spike in cortisol, a stress hormone. The night is a time for rest, sleep, internal repair, and detox. But with cortisol present in the system, it’s not possible to get the sleep and repair you need. So even if you wear orange glasses and work, you’ll be affecting the quality of sleep. So we recommend finishing all work before sunset, and in emergency situations before 9 pm.
If you can find time to take care of these responsibilities before sunset you can do the challenge. If you’re unable to do that, then you can reapply when you’re ready to follow the Devi’s maryadas.
Please add ½ tsp of Himalayan pink salt in 1 liter of water and keep sipping on it throughout the day. This will remove all hunger pangs.
Eat meals that are rich in protein and fats. Especially animal products. Once in the morning around sunrise. And the second time around lunch. This will make sure your body gets its nutritional needs met and doesn’t go hungry at night, provided you follow other Devi’s Maryadas. If your meal is predominantly carbs, then you’ll feel hungry at night.
Take a sun and earthing break 5 mins after every hour you spend indoors during the day. And on your off days, compensate for the backlog by getting a lot of morning sun.
You need natural light. It’s okay if you can’t see the sun directly because it is cloudy or because of high-rise buildings in your area. There still is an abundance of Infrared light coming which is essential for us to get in the daytime.
Step out in the cold and remove your warm winter jacket. Stay in the cold till you start shivering. Shiver for a few minutes and then you can wear your jacket again. Do it often and slowly keep increasing your time till you get comfortable in the cold weather.
If you can find sunlight on your terrace or park, you need to spend time there. If not, please relocate to a location where sunlight is abundant. Living a life detached from nature is a perfect recipe for disaster of health and well-being.
No exceptions.
Eating according to our nutritional and energy requirements is a necessary step of Devi’s Maryadas, which includes having enough animal fat and proteins, sourcing organically grown products only, Eating at certain times of the day when our digestive hormones are high is also to be followed (Please refer to the Devi Maryada Document).
No, we recommend eating animal-based foods, which are rich in DHA and proteins as they allow you to create and store light in the body. Vegetarian food mainly releases the stored light from the body that could be used as energy otherwise.
The least you can do is get sunlight on your terrace or balcony. And go outside the city in nature on weekends. There are likely many natural places around your place in the city and you don’t know them. You can find them easily on Google Maps and plan your outdoor visits accordingly.
About Health issues
All health issues are caused by chronic loss of energy. This challenge is not to solve your health issues. The very reason why you don’t have health is because you are following what is propagated as healthy (supplements, fad diets, exercise culture, etc) but is making humans sicker and sicker. You need to read the book Mitochondriac Manifesto and follow Devi’s Maryadas to become healthy. It will balance the natural rhythms that your body has developed over millions of years of evolution.
Mental problems get stored in the water memory of your body and mind because of not having enough energy to wash them away. Setting the circadian rhythm by following the Devi’s maryadas helps to flush the traumas out of the system. Only then you can learn yoga.
Details About The Challenge
It’s a recorded program. New lessons will be unlocked each day and after completing the set of 4 lessons on one Aadhara, there will be one day’s gap before moving on to the next Aadhara. You will get live coaching on WhatsApp group and personal chat from Guruji.
You need to first finish the challenge and then you’ll be ready to learn something offline at the Gurukul. Before you meet Guruji, you need to learn the culture and appropriate behaviour of the akhada. This will be taken care of in the challenge.
You can’t harbour atheistic thoughts and expect yoga to work. The teachings include a deeper spiritual understanding of the religious teachings that have been a part of our vast ancient culture for thousands of years. It needs you to have complete faith in the gods and Guruji. Please spend time educating yourself with the videos on Guruji’s YouTube channel before you can trust enough that these lessons can give you the growth you need in life.
No. Guru Ji is a very private person. He only meets his students. We recommend watching his videos and spending time learning from his videos. And becoming his student and impressing him with your sincerity and sadhana before you can meet him. Because there will be some solid agreement after you’ve learned from him and your meeting will be fruitful.
Guruji is fully occupied with hundreds of students he coaches from over the world, throughout the day daily without off days. However, in emergency situations only will you be able to get on a call with Guruji. Otherwise, personal coaching from Guruji on WhatsApp is as good as having a conversation over the call.
Please apply only when you have the freedom of time, energy, health, and willingness to apply the lessons in this program. In the meantime, you can keep learning from Guruji’s YouTube channel. There’s enough information available to fix most of your problems.
No, but as per the Devi’s maryadas, you need to not miss the sunrise. If you’re following the night discipline of wearing orange glasses, cutting out the blue light from your surroundings, and sleeping on time, you’ll become sensitive to the early morning light before sunrise. So waking up anytime before sunrise is okay.
Please apply for the program only when you’re completely certain of your abilities as well as the competence of Guruji to guide you.
